Bill of Lading T-Shirt
Bills of lading in the 1800s began with the word “Shipped”. This one is filled in for the wearer: shipped by Galley & Gunpowder on board the good ship Loose Cannon, master: you, bound wherever the wind blows. Navy and signal red on ivory.
From the log: A bill of lading was the receipt a ship’s master signed for cargo taken aboard. Printers kept the forms in stock, with a ship cut at the top and blanks for a clerk to fill in by hand.
